Health and Beauty

If one mentions the term health, more often than not what he actually means is 'good health'. And there is no other alternative to good health if one wants to be beautiful as well.

There can be a debate in context of the above mentioned statement. Beauty is a very subjective term. It can mean different things to different people. A particular person might look beautiful to one but not to the other. So it is indeed difficult to find an appropriate definition for the term beauty. Again just sharp features might not be enough for a person to be beautiful. Generally long neck, broad eyes, pointed nose, and pink lips are thought to be signs of beauty, might also not fall in the line of beautiful people.

In terms of health working out endlessly in order to have pumping chest, big arms, brick abs, and lean waist is not always necessary. A person with these physical features might be healthy but it is not important that he is beautiful also. Even a normal person, who doesn't sweat and fret in the gym to have a Greek God like body, can be robust and very healthy. Being healthy actually refers to a condition when all the organs of the body are working properly and efficiently and all the nutrients of the body are in proportion. The person is not suffering from any deficiency. In order to attain this state work outs can be immensely helpful, but in a body building it is not a pre requisite. Many a time it has been found that even a body builder turns out to be deficient in many respects.

However, it is seen that if a particular person is beautiful, the beauty sparkles all the more if he is healthy too. Health reflects on the face. Good health is radiating as it nourishes the skin of a person and skin plays a huge role in the beauty factor. On the other hand if a person is not feeling fresh and healthy from within, it will show on the face. This will ruin the impact even if he or she was beautiful. Contra vise even good health can't perform miracle of transforming an ugly person into beauty. It, however, can sometimes make the person presentable.

There is an old saying that goes somewhat like this- "Handsome is what handsome does". We can take the liberty of transforming it a little and inserting beauty in place of handsome. After all it is true that a person is known and remembered by his deeds. Still a good health is a boon that can hardly be over emphasized. It is not a luxury but a need. It is a need without which survival becomes tough. However in case of beauty, it is not a necessity. But being human beings, we crave for beauty; all of us want to look beautiful.
