Health and fitness in the first place appear very much like synonyms. But they are far apart. We can put it this way, fitness is an important ingredient of health, or rather good health. They are complementary to each other. Fitness boosts health and good health increases the level of fitness.

When a person possesses good health, he is ready to face each and every circumstance he is confronted with. In order to work, study, sing, dance, play, and even to have sex, good health is required. Though these things can also be done by people with weak health, they fall easy prey to fatigue, stress, and sometimes even depression. Good health makes a person fit for any task that is required of him or her to perform. The fitness level, as is commonly seen, is very high in the persons with good health. When fitness is used in this sense what it actually means is the capability of a person to do or perform an activity.

Conversely to the above discussed meaning fitness in order to boost physical health is different. The main objective of work- out is to improve ones health. The exercises are often referred to as fitness exercises. They are so named because they work towards the improvement of health and in the process improvement of the overall fitness level of the person concerned.

Health and fitness both are very important for successful accomplishment of tasks. Even otherwise they are important. Good health is a must in order to be happy. Even a small head ache or a stomach pain can spoil the mood. A no botheration on the health front can keep a person from doing a job well. Thus effort has to be made in order to keep fitness level and good health. Though they don't seem to be so striking, their importance can be well gauged when say there is a deadline to be met in the workplace and a stomach pain crops up. It can prove to be a big hurdle in such a circumstance.

Nowadays people hardly get the time to exercise and work- out. Besides, people are hesitant to do physical exertion due to the mechanized environment - a boon of science and technology. Hence effort has to be put in, to attain a robust health. You may not realize but without health even money ceases to hold any worth at times.
