Health Zones

A health zone is a concept that is not exactly new. Health zones were prevalent since the ancient times. But they came into proper existence in the Victorian days only. Health zones are not what they seem to be, health zones are initiatives taken by the governments to look into the health and the health issues of a particular zone of a country.

Sometimes a country or a state or a province is divided accordingly so that it would be easier for the government of that particular place to look into the issues and the concerns related to the health of people of that particular province. It also happens that the government assigns some part of the job to private sectors. That is the reason why the existence of concerns like the Non Governmental Organizations (NGO) can be seen nowadays.

A country flourishes from the work of its citizens. And for the citizens to work efficiently good health is a must. Even otherwise it is the duty of the State to look after its citizens. Hence for the convenience of the government, zones are created so that it would be easier for the government to function better.

Health zones are not just for the sake of health of the people of a particular area. The health zones also have to deal with other concerns like the budget that the government allots for the health related issues of that particular zone. These zones are vested with the responsibility to submit reports and updates to the government on the use of the funds, the health related programs and the health update of the people of that province.

However there is a flip side to the health zones also. No doubt health zones are constituted for the common good and convenience of the public and the government, still there remains certain major loopholes in the functioning of these health zones, especially in the third world and populous countries like India where corruption reigns supreme. It has been seen that the officials of these zones very often sell the drugs to the public when actually they are meant to be distributed free of cost. Tampering with the records is also very often practiced.

Hence in this kind of scenario it is mandatory for the government to take proper and strict regulatory measures against the health zones' officials. Only then can the health zones achieve their purpose of serving the public.
